Gamble
It was a maelstrom
Of beauty and joy
I sat there meelky
Controlling every thought
Choosing my every word
Watching my every move
Faithfully determined
Not to make a mistake
I felt unworthy
Mostly insecure
Ugly in comparison
To her radiance
Unconfident and uncertain
Yet willing to take the risk
I spoke with shyness
But my words held strength
I shared my opinion
And was amazed by hers
I found an equal
Probably my better
We talked for an age
An found refuge in each other
This wonderful person
I'm glad I encountered
