I see them frolicking

A promenade of blissful ignorance

Brought to unquestioned fruition

By the social conditioning of our time

Where delight is only apparent,

When it is recognized by others

Where emptiness is quickly equated,

With the hunger for companionship

Believing that love is the nepenthe

Which erases all pain and dries all tears

When in truth, our blind acceptance is a crutch

Our beliefs are pre-taught

That what we hold sacred

Is from individuals who choose to search... not to build

Domesticated dogs that die when abandoned

That mourn because they feel incomplete

Happiness should be found within

Shared outward and never come at a price

That is the truth... Love comes as a bonus not as a goal

Its current absence should not be likened to the exsanguination of the soul...

Because Love is not a lesson... Not a goal... Not an affirmation of completion... It is priceless.
