Every man wants to see their woman
Seemingly unspoiled
By the daily corruptions
Ever-present in life

Every man feels the need
To assume that his woman
Has a clean and impeccable past
One that is uneventful

Devoid of rowdy nights
Free of wild and basal instances
Mediocre and meaningless partners
If any are even present

But what we want now
Was not important then
In a past within pasts
One we were absent in

So our demands, our insecurities
Our pain and jealousy for "what was"
Is pointless and selfish
And serves no productive purpose

Our resistance for the past
Is the hindrance of our present

I like this. If men and women who get into relationships take each other's past this way, world peace shall reign. JK. But yeah, this is good.
